Public Safety Guidelines:
For Businesses, Truck Drivers and Employees
Where there’s smoke….
The Randolph/Fulton Market is home to over 300 businesses.
Each day, thousands of cars, trucks and employees enter and
exit the area while shopping and conduct business.
….there can be fire.
But sometimes, the Market’s environment attracts criminals.
This brochure is RFMA’s campaign to improve safety.
Please follow these recommendations and share this information
with managers, employees, truck drivers and others.
#1 Be Smart & Aware
Call 911 if you see anything unusual such as strangers and
slow moving vehicles. Don’t leave trucks running or leave keys
in vehicles.
#2 Don’t Use “Lumpers”
Do not hire temporary workers (“lumpers”) to load and unload
as these people often are associated with criminal activity.
#3 Secure Pallets
Do not assist pallet scavengers with shopping carts, as they
may also be engaged in criminal activity. Secure and return
your pallets and broken pallets as well.
#4 Make Police Reports & Go to Court
All crimes should be reported immediately. This helps RFMA
and the police collaborate to eliminate crime. If a crime occurs,
RFMA will assist you to attend court and gain justice.
